A wild Jynx appears!!!

Well everyone, we did it. One duct tape Pokémon a month for an entire year… Now let us never speak of this accomplishment again. I’m kidding, of course, but I don’t think I’ll be striving to do 12 Pokémon per year anytime soon.

I thought Jynx would be the perfect Pokémon to end my Pokéyear.. It’s December, Jynx is an ice type (the first ice type I made I might add) and she helped Santa Claus in one episode of Pokémon. Plus Jynx is one of my favorites.

I believe Jynx is the second largest Pokémon that I’ve created, the largest being Gengar. It’s certainly the most elaborate Pokémon I made. I was originally going to make her at half the size, however I figured if I was going to end this year the right way, I had to go big.

I created the dress part from the base up, similar to what I did with Dugtrio’s dirt mound. The base is roughly 20 inches wide and the skirt is 1 foot tall.

The chest was a little tricky. As I said in my Jigglypuff, I’m not so good at making things symmetrical. I ended up using hemispherical styrofoam for the shape.

The head and hands used fuschia duct tape, a tape I wasn’t aware existed.

The hair was a pain in the ass, let me tell you. I assumed that it would take an hour or so to complete but it ended up taking about a week. The hair is actually a wig I made for Jynx (It’s glued to her head). I’ve included a picture of Jynx with no wig. It’s kind of nightmare fuel.

Jynx brings the total number of duct tape Pokémon that I made from the Kanto region to 34 and the all-time total to 38.

I’m probably going to take a break from duct tape Pokémon for a few months. I have a few other projects that I’m interested in working on. I’ll probably hold a user poll for which Pokémon you all would like to see so look forward to that.

Also, if you’re going to Magfest be sure to swing by our table. That’s right! DuctileCreations will have a table at Magfest. You can take a look at Jynx up close as well as several other Pokémon.

As always, that you all for your support and have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! See you in 2015!

Everything you see on Jynx is duct tape.
